1. Information gathered and tracked and what we do with this information
At Discover the World, we strive to provide the customer with a compelling reason to visit our site again. Therefore, in order to help us provide an optimal site and service, we gather the following information in aggregate form: browser type (e.g. Navigator, Internet Explorer), operating system (e.g. Macintosh, Windows), IP address, Internet domain & Search Engine (e.g. Yahoo, Alta Vista, Demon, AOL), hits received, pages read, Countries of origin.
1A. Information gathered on our readership:
Demographic and profile data is used to tailor our visitors' experience at our site, showing content that we think might be of interest, and displaying the content according to these preferences. Customers may opt-out at any time of receiving future mailings; see the delete/deactivate section below.
1B. Information gathered from surveys:
Our occasional email surveys ask visitors for demographic information (like their postal code, age, or holiday budget). Visitors may opt-out of receiving future survey mailings; see the delist/deactivate section below. This demographic and profile data is used to provide aggregate customers profiles to our marketing partners and to help us create a better service.
1C. Information gathered from contests:
We occasionally run contests on our site and the customer's contact information is used to contact the customer when necessary (with a winner's notification, for example) and customers are added to our mailing list for future products. Abbreviated/censored customer names and/or e-mail addresses may be used on our contest winners' page as well.

We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information on our email lists.
Emails sent to Discover the World may occasionally be used for testimonial purposes but will be withdrawn from the web site if requested. This site contains links to other sites and Discover the World is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.

Discover the World is committed to the security of customer information and we have security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under Discover the World’s control. If a customer does not does not prefer to send credit card details over the web with a secure browser, customers are welcome to open an account by fax or phone.

Discover theWorld provides customers the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us and can ask to be removed from the list at any time.
