This voyage focuses on orca (also known as ‘killer whale’) watching in the beautiful Tysfjord and Vestfjorden areas of Norway, where an estmiated 600 orca congregate at this time of year. Board your beautiful sailing boat the Noorderlicht in the pretty town of Lodingen in Norway and it’s all hands on deck on your orca safari holiday! This two masted schooner carrys a maximum of 20 passengers and the friendly crew onboard will ensure your journey around this stunning region is simply unforgettable.

Sailing in this area you will experience some of the finest scenery and wildlife encounters in the world. You may see dolphins playing at the bow of the boat, racing the Noorderlicht through the cool water of the fjord. Look for whales, see walrus hauled out on ice floes and marvel at the unique array of wildlife found only in this part of the world.

The Lofoten voyages take place in autumn, when the days are getting short in Northern Norway. At this time of year expect the first flurries of snow showers, with temperatures hovering just above freezing. The autumn colours will be beautiful during the day time, and as darkness falls we hope to bear witness to the amazing phenomena of the shimmering Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
