During this 16-day Canadian Arctic expedition you’ll transit the infamous Hecla and Fury Strait. Named after a pair of exploration ships that were forced to turn back when they reached the ice-choked channel, this body of water on the west coast of Baffin Island challenges ordinary vessels. The polar class icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov is purpose-built for Arctic ice conditions.

Route of Voyage



Please note the voyage route and daily itinerary is subject to weather conditions therefore flexibility is the key to enjoying your expedition voyage to the full. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
This voyage commences at the Ottawa with a a pre-voyage overnight, before the charter flight the next day to Resolute where you will step aboard the Kapitan Khlebnikov. After exploring the wonders of the Canadian Arctic the Kapitan Khlebnikov docks at Iqaluit, and following disembarkation you will fly south to Ottawa for a final overnight before bidding farewell to your fellow passengers (and the flight home). We are able to offer competitive rates with Air Canada for flights from the UK to Ottawa. Day 4: Lancaster Sound.
Day 5: Somerset Island.
Day 6: Peel Sound.
Day 7: Bellot Strait and Fort Ross.
Day 8: Gulf of Boothia.
Day 9: Fury and Hecla Strait.
Day 10-11: Foxe Basin.
Day 12: Cape Dorset.
Day 13: Kimmirut.
Day 14: Lady Franklin Island.
Day 15: Disemarkation. Fly Iqaluit to Ottawa.
Day 16: Ottawa
