Introduction

BOOK NOW!
We offer two schemes, Budget and Standard and a summary of the differences is shown below. Further differences between these two schemes are available on request.

Budget

3-6 night visits based at the Youth Hostel or Hotel Cabin in Reykjavik and at hotels or farms in the countryside. Groups use their own sleeping bags and have no guide on the first and last days (guides for these two days are available on request at additional cost). You may expect to share the accommodation with groups from other countries, especially at the youth hostel. Room types vary from twin to 8-12 per room often with shared facilities. Staff are provided with one separate room per gender with linen included. Lunch materials are provided when based at the farm stay, but must otherwise be purchased at a supermarket. Dinner is included in the countryside but not in Reykjavik, though we can pre-book this for you.

Standard

3-6 night visits based in selected guesthouses or farm hotels. Everyone has made up beds and a guide is with you all the way. The trips are usually based in one establishment and rarely will you have to share accommodation with another school. Generally the student rooms are twin with private facilities, though some rooms will be triples and occasionally there will be shared bathrooms. Staff are provided with one separate room per gender. Full board is included with materials for making a packed lunch provided at breakfast time.

Tailor-made Visits

Every year we tailor visits to suit individual educational establishments whether universities, schools, exploration groups, scouts, youth or Duke of Edinburgh Award groups. These are mostly summer visits. If you would prefer a tailor-made visit please give us a call.

Expeditions

For many years Iceland has been a popular destination for self-sufficient expeditions camping in wild country to undertake fieldwork or recreational activities. Many have contributed usefully to the stock of knowledge, others benefited from the field experience or physical challenge. In some cases groups have been able to contribute to conservation work. Give our office a call to discuss ideas.

What To Do Next

Give us a call or send an email to let us know of your particular interests and then submit the Quotation Request Form. This will involve no commitment on your part.

Inspection Visits

We offer subsidised visits expressly for teachers to enable the participants to see the field areas and to broaden their field experience. Please contact our office for further details.
