All our excursions from Reykjavik are offered by experienced local companies. Unless otherwise stated they are accompanied by an English-speaking guide, though commentary may also be given in other languages.
Please note prices stated are per person – excursions subject to availability and possibly minimum numbers, and/or adverse weather conditions. We cannot be held responsible should part or all, of the excursion be cancelled or altered due to such conditions. Children must be accompanied by an adult. .A trek on the sure-footed Icelandic horse can be enjoyed even by first-time riders. These alert, willing animals, with a friendly nature, are a pleasure to ride in their natural surroundings. The award-winning Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s premier attractions and is conveniently located close to Keflavik International Airport. Set amidst a field of black basalt lava, the temperature in this stunning lagoon averages a relaxing 35-40°C and powder- blue mineral rich waters mix with seawater. Superjeep Safaris |
The specially customised 4WD vehicles can drive almost anywhere, glide over snow, traverse rivers and climb steep slopes. The drivers show just how versatile the vehicles are on an exciting day trip into the wilds beyond the capital. The itineraries given here may vary according to the weather and season.
Please note snowmobiling is based on two sharing a machine and drivers require a valid licence. For single rider there is a supplement of £32. Children can ride as passengers, but must be 10 years or over. Snowmobile trips are offered throughout the winter months but are weather and snow dependent.

Fly to Akureyri in the north and travel by coach to Godafoss, an impressive symmetrical waterfall. Continue to Myvatn, a beautiful lake surrounded by lava and craters then to the town of Husavik. Board a converted. Arrive Husavik and board a converted fishing boat for a 3-hour whale watch in Skjalfandi Bay. With luck, see minke whale, white-beaked dolphin and harbour porpoise, though other species also appear from time to time. Return to Akureyri for the flight back to Reykjavik. |

A world apart, Greenland is just a short flight from Iceland, yet it couldn’t be more different. Fly west over the pack ice to Kulusuk, a community on the remote and rugged east coast. In clear weather, enjoy stunning views of the inland icecap as the aircraft comes into land. Walk to Cape Dan and observe life in a traditional fishing and hunting village. There is time to stroll around the village, purchase handicrafts or even strike up an acquaintance with some of Kulusuk's 360 inhabitants.
