We are often asked by potential clients why they should book their holiday with a specialist tour operator. So what is involved in putting your holiday together?

The Concept
The process starts with a concept – most often a new itinerary. Fuelled by our specialist in-depth destination knowledge, we are constantly exploring new ideas about ways to make the most out of each country we operate in – this usually happens after our travel specialists have visited the destination in question. Once we have researched the best way to achieve the concept and all suppliers involved have met our very rigorous standards, the appropriate contracts are then drawn up.

The Brochure and Website
We then set about creating the itinerary as it will be featured in our brochures and website. This involves a number of additional stages to work through – including drawing maps and looking for images to help bring the holiday to life.

Training
We then set about training our team of travel specialists and operations staff, as well as our marketing department – this may involve exploring the destination first-hand or experiencing various elements of the holiday. It is crucial that our staff maintain their specialist knowledge so that you, our client, can receive the best possible information and service.

Operations
All the above processes are completed before the holiday is presented to you – even after this initial investment of time and energy, there is no guarantee that a holiday concept that has excited us will necessarily appeal to you! Once you have booked your holiday, we will provide you with a detailed day by day itinerary and fully brief you on all the highlights of the particular destination. Finally your travel documents are prepared and dispatched to you.

During the Holiday
We use a combination of destination based staff and appointed ground agents to assist our clients in all our destinations. We also operate a 24-hour emergency service, which is supported by the full resources of our team of over 50 people here in the UK, plus additional organisations. Our dedicated team are on hand to ensure your holiday operates as smoothly as possible.

Upon Return
We hope you will return with nothing but happy memories, if however you have any concerns we do our best to address them straight away.  If, like many of our happy customers, you wish to return to your holiday destination, then you will be sure of the same fantastic service!

This is just a very brief overview of how we work to put your holiday together. This is not an exhaustive checklist and doesn’t include many of the behind the scenes intricacies of tour operations - for example, as the client you make one payment to cover all your holiday arrangements whereas we often make a multitude to various suppliers for just one booking! We also work behind the scenes on environmental issues such as lobbying against whaling in Iceland.
