Jo joined the company after finishing university by working in the administration department and then went on to sell the wildlife watching holidays, which is her real passion. She has travelled extensively throughout her time here to many of our past and present destinations including Iceland, Greenland, Spitsbergen, Norway, Canada, Ecuador and the Galapagos, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Gibraltar, the Azores, Bahamas and Sri Lanka. She has also visited much of Europe, China and various parts of the US.

• Quietly cruising past icebergs the size of buildings swathed in mist in a Zodiac boat in Greenland
• Seeing the northern lights dancing across the sky over the frozen lake at the ICEHOTEL
• Watching polar bear cubs playing next to the tundra buggy in Canada

With roots in both the Caribbean and Africa, Jav's passion for travelling took hold shortly after joining Discover the World as a Lapland Operations Executive. His 6 month round the world trip took him as far afield as New Zealand which led to him coming back to join the Specialist team as a Travel Consultant for Down Under! His travels have also taken him to China, Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Italy, Australia as well as the Caribbean Islands.

• Leaping out of a plane at 12,000ft over the awe-inspiring Franz Josef glacier in New Zealand, definitely something for the thrill seeker in you!
• Getting up close and personal with Sea turtles and a Moray Eel while scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef; to witness the majesty and elegance of these creatures in their environment was an experience that I'll never forget

Josie joined Discover the World in 2007 as a Travel Consultant on the Iceland Team. A year on she followed her passion for all things ‘Down Under’ and is now an accredited Australia and New Zealand Specialist; she is also looking forward to expanding her knowledge of our Polar Journey destinations. Josie has travelled extensively; her first real ‘adventure’ was InterRailing through Europe. Since then she has pursued her zest for adventure and exploration and has been fortunate enough to travel extensively through Australia, New Zealand, India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji and the Cook Islands.

• Sleeping in a swag under the phenomenal night sky of the Australian Outback and watching the sun rise over Uluru

Lindi started her career in international tennis and then spent several years working in the bio-pharmaceutical industry. She has a degree in management studies and is an accredited Life Coach. Following a year working and living in New Zealand, Lindi joined Discover the World in 2003 and has enjoyed the wonders of the travel industry ever since! She is passionate about New Zealand, its people and its culture. She has a life-long addiction to travel and her favourite destinations include New Zealand (of course!), Japan, Australia, Brazil, the USA, and Italy amongst many others.

• Standing on top of Mt Tarawera in Rotorua, New Zealand and taking off on a “scree” slide with a sheer ascent from the top to the bottom and into a fractured volcanic crater that literally “ blew its top” in 1886
• Flying to the top of the Remarkables mountain range by helicopter; sipping champagne whilst overlooking the most breathtaking scenery and views of Queenstown below
• Observing the 5 minute “Sound of Silence” on board the Fiordland Navigator at Doubtful Sound, in the depths of Fiordland National Park, and being humbled by the immense power of nature in this incredible wilderness and its awe-inspiring landscape

Having lived the first part of her life in Arizona, with frequent visits to her family in New Zealand, Holly’s life began well travelled. After living in England for several years, she decided to immerse herself in her heritage by moving to New Zealand to study and travel for a year in 2007. Holly’s travel experience also includes Australia, South Western parts of the US, Hawaii, Venezuela, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium.

Liz joined Discover the World in 2002, working in the Iceland operations team before becoming Programme Manager for New Zealand for several years. Following an 18 month break she returned to DTW as Polar Journeys Product Manager in 2008, and most recently set up our new Australia programme, launched in April 2009. Having lived and worked in both Canada and New Zealand, Liz has also travelled extensively throughout Australia, NZ and the South Pacific, as well as North, Central and South America. She has also visited Iceland several times and in December 2008 achieved a lifelong dream of visiting Antarctica – which managed to surpass every expectation!

• Swimming with Whale Sharks at Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia, is one of the ultimate wildlife experiences and a real privilege. To be in the water with these huge creatures literally takes your breath away, and combined with the glorious coral of the reef and the chance to see dugongs, turtles and manta rays, this really is an experience to treasure
• Everything about Antarctica was just incredible; from the majestic scenery, the immense icebergs, the fascinating history of exploration, the endearingly comical penguins and other amazing wildlife, to the invigorating polar plunge, the great company on board and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the expedition team

The travelling bug found me in 2004 when I decided to go backpacking for a year to South America, New Zealand, Australia and then finished in Thailand. I had just finished a BTEC in travel and tourism and wanted to see the world. Since then I have been lucky enough to travel back to New Zealand as well as visit French Polynesia, Peru and Brazil. My passion is for South America and Australasia and I am now enjoying expanding my knowledge on the Polar regions.
