The Gljufur summerhouses are ideally situated for exploring the many sights of the south, by car and by foot including the natural wonders on the ‘Golden Circle’ route, several stunning waterfalls, Mount Hekla and the birdcliffs at Dyrholaey. Horse riding is popular here too. The towns of Hveragerdi and Selfoss are close by therefore shopping for supplies or heading out to dinner is but a short hop. And of course with all that Reykjavik has to offer, a night out in the capital is also perfectly feasible.
