WHEN TO GO
Australia is a year round destination. The southern temperate zone has four seasons which are the opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere; with summer months Dec to Feb offering long hot days and cooler temperatures in the winter (Jun to Aug). In the tropical zone (northern Western Australia, Northern Territory and northern Queensland), there are just two seasons, ‘green/wet’ (summer – November to May) and ‘dry’ (winter – April to October).

With vast distances between key destinations, why not take advantage of Australia’s network of roads, rail and air services. Domestic flights enable you to see key destinations in a short space of time, while crossing the country by train gives you a chance to relax and enjoy the diverse scenery in comfort. Shorter routes can easily be covered with a few days self-drive, either by car or motorhome, but if you’d rather let someone else drive then why not consider one of our escorted touring options instead?
