British Columbia

Canada’s westernmost and third largest province, British Columbia’s dramatic beauty and a wide variety of landscapes attracts millions of visitors a year; mountain ranges, forests, lakes, orchards, vineyards, rainforest and coastal scenery.
The city of Vancouver is situated in one of the most beautiful settings of any world city. Host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the city has historic districts, lush gardens, and wilderness parks within its environs. North of Vancouver is Whistler, the largest ski resort in Canada, set among the spectacular Coast Mountains. The skiing here can be among the best in the world with mild Pacific weather and reliable winter snow.
A short ferry ride from Vancouver city is Vancouver Island’s world-famous Pacific Rim National Park, the whale-watching centre of Canada. The quiet, attractive city of Victoria is the province’s political centre. The many-domed Parliament Buildings are an impressive sight, particularly at night when the facades are illuminated by thousands of lights which reflect in the waters of the harbour.
British Columbia is the northernmost region of grape growing and winemaking in North America, with more than 150 wineries across three regions and an astounding 60 varieties of grapes being grown.
