“An unforgettable trip. If you want a trip to inspire travel and excite pupils about geography then Lapland is a must. The reaction from the pupils was amazing.”
Ian Redford, Thornhill School

"I have been to Iceland with Discover the World a dozen times, with small and large groups, as an individual and with my school pupils. Over the years I have got to know the Discover the World staff well. They’re friendly: the same person always works with me and I feel like a valued customer. They’re experts: they know the hotels and attractions because they’ve stayed there themselves. They’re good value for money: sometimes I try to save money by booking directly, but I always find that Discover the World has preferential rates, meaning that they can charge less than the locals do. I have seen the northern lights so many times I have memories to last a lifetime. I’ve seen an eighteen-year-old first-eleven football captain reduced to tears by the beauty of nature. I lost count, long ago, of the number of ‘best days ever’. Iceland is the star of this show, of course, but Discover the World makes it all possible".
Kato Harris FRGS Cgeog, Head of Geography, South Hampstead High School

"I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in helping organise our recent trip to Iceland. It was extremely successful with the students having a wonderful time. Several said they wanted to stay in Iceland longer! Their highlights were the Blue Lagoon, the Ice Cap trip, and seeing the eruption from the back of the Dyrholaey Hotel glowing red at night. The guide and coach driver were both excellent and very flexible. All the bookings went perfectly. Luckily we seemed to have dodged the interruptions caused by the eruptions and, although the weather was cold, it was beautifully clear".
Anthony Price, The Becket School

“It was amazing, can’t explain to you the value of the trip to be bought back into the classroom”
James Haden-Walker, Kingsbury School

"Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and the rest of your team for organising such a fantastic trip to Iceland. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to go again… The pupils are still talking about it which just goes to prove how much they enjoyed it. The guide and driver was a first class service… Both the driver and the guide could not do enough for us and their knowledge and experience was invaluable".
Steven Jones, St Josephs R C Comprehensive School

“The whole trip ran smoothly and all the girls thoroughly enjoyed every activity in our itinerary. We hope to return to Iceland with Discover the World…”
A Wyn-Jones, James Allen’s Girls’ School

“We had a fantastic time and the students loved every minute of it especially the ride up onto the glacier”
Sarah Boyse, Altrincham High School

"Our fifth trip to Iceland was as fantastic as all before it. There were unrivalled experiences of glaciers, ice caps, volcanoes and coastal scenery and the most spectacular waterfalls at almost every turn. Each year has been different but has provided the students with the most outstanding experiential learning opportunities. There is no where better to study physical geography! Nevertheless this year was something truly special as we witnessed an eruption just hours after skidooing on the adjacent ice cap. We were interviewed and shown on the national news, and were even recognised by the cabin crew on the journey home! An amazing experience was had by all!"
Martin MacDonald, Longdean School

“We had a fantastic time and owe a lot of it to your ever-patient and highly efficient organisation.”
Simon Ross, Queen’s College

“I am pleased to say everything went smoothly as being trip leader this is a constant worry. The girls are now working on a presentation for a whole school assembly to share our experiences and memories. Thank you for everything you have done for us, without your help and organisation our trip would not have been such a success.”
Northampton High School

“We had a superb trip and every single pupil and teacher was pleased with the way things went.”
European School of Brussels

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a very enjoyable trip, which was made exceptional by the fantastic tour guide and driver that you provided us with. They were everything we required, providing us with detailed local knowledge, delivered in a friendly and welcoming manner at all times."
Lois Gerhold, Caerleon Comprehensive School

"As always your service has been impeccable; accurate, efficient and polite."
Lee Swain, King Edward VI College

"Many thanks for organising the Iceland trip for us, it was excellent. The natural environment came up trumps with an earthquake, a spectacular display of the Northern lights, mighty waves on the coast, snow, gale force winds and perfect sunny and dry weather when needed. The guide (Olafur) was excellent along with the coach driver. We learnt so much about Iceland. He was also very willing to talk about topical issues and we had many debates.

One comment that Olafur made about ‘Discover the World’ we promised to pass on to you. He said that you were the only company that asked him to do an evaluation. This impressed him because he could see you were serious in wanting improve."
David Weeks, Chosen Hill School

"We got back from Iceland yesterday and had a superb trip - the best yet.  Thank you very much for the superb organisation - you made it very easy for me!"
Timothy Patteson, Sir John Lawes School

"I have been to Iceland three times with Discover the World and each time they have provided us with a comprehensive itinerary that inspires the next generation of geographers to love the world around them. It gives the students the chance to apply their knowledge to a varied and fascinating set of different environments. If your course covers tectonics, glaciation, coasts, food supply, development, energy or conflict then you need to take a group here. 'Discover' have all the necessary paperwork available to make your life easier and placate your head, parents and borough trip advisor. This is an amazing opportunity for your students and is completely worth it!"

Anthony Bainbridge, Head of geography, The Windsor Boys' School
