We have supported over half of the top schools in the UK on educational visits to Iceland and 65% of our client base being repeat business serves as a testimony to the quality of the service we offer. We offer invaluable student trips to suit a variety of purposes, whether it be curriculum based or purely recreational, and have operated trips with schools right across the educational spectrum including inner city comprehensives and top public schools.
We pride ourselves on the knowledge we can offer educational groups so that you can get the most out of whatever trip you’re planning. The diverse backgrounds, enthusiasm and experience of our team are tremendous assets, and many of our staff are either from Iceland or have travelled extensively within it.
Simply put, we know Iceland and our on-going training programme ensures that it stays that way. Together with our qualified, specialist ground operators in Iceland we have the knowledge and contacts to make your trip a success.
At Discover the World we take health and safety very seriously. To that end we provide our own detailed risk assessment, which is constantly monitored and externally audited.
We are accredited members of;
School Travel Forum - this Department for Children, Schools and Families initiative recognises good practice in the field of educational visits. STF-accredited operators have to commit to a code of practice as well as produce in-depth and independently audited risk assessment exercises. Furthermore, we have to produce safety management standards documents for all of our destinations, activities and local representatives..
Learning Outside of the Classroom - we have been awarded a ‘Learning outside the Classroom’ badge which recognises our commitment to the benefits of education travel whilst doing our utmost to ensure safety standards are kept to at all times.
Fieldwork Code of Practice - produced by the Geographical Association in conjunction with the Field Studies Council, this code ensures that our fieldwork is purposeful, an enjoyable experience through which learning is fun. We must ensure a safe fieldwork experience and that we maintain, and enhance if we can, the diversity of environments for future generations.
We are also members of all major travel industry associations and are bonded by ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents), AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators), and the Civil Aviation Authority under the ATOL scheme, so we can be sure that your trip is in safe hands and your money is fully protected no matter what. In the current economic climate this will help provide much needed peace of mind.

One element of our programme that we feel really sets us apart is our offer to come into your school and talk to students and teachers about our destinations and your trip – be it a general information exercise to generate interest in a proposed visit or as a pre-trip briefing. Using stunning visuals and conveying an evident passion for the destination, these presentations can really whet the appetite for a visit to the living laboratory that is Iceland.
Please contact our team via email or by calling 01737 214 250.
Alternatively, come and find us to have an informal chat at one of the many teacher exhibitions that we visit throughout the year.
If your trip is field study orientated we have a variety of field work study notes specific to the study areas that we visit. These are relevant to a variety of subjects and syllabuses including the new GCSE, AS and A2.
