Eyjafjallajokull Volcano by Superjeep
Visit the volcanoes at Mt. Magni and Modi, which are located between the Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers. Mt. Magni and Modi are the craters that erupted just before the principal crater of Eyjafjallajokull (the latter being underneath the glacier and inaccessible by ground). Walking on the new lava you can feel the heat and see the hot glowing lava under the surface.
Your experienced and friendly superjeep driver/guide will take you as far as possible, and from there it is approximately a one-hour walk up from where the jeep trail ends to the volcano. After exploring the volcano and breathtaking surrounding views of the wooded Thorsmork valley, return to south west Iceland (pick-up and drop off is available from Hotel Ranga, Hotel Anna, Hotel Skogar and limited surrounding area).
