Thorsmork by Superjeep
From Reykjavik head west to the beautiful waterfall of Seljalandsfoss offering the chance to carefully follow a rocky path up to and even behind the powerful curtain of water. Continue into the breathtaking valley of Thorsmork, surrounded by glaciers on three sides, and popular with hikers.
Thorsmork is a wide valley named after Thor, the Viking God of Thunder. The expert superjeep driver/guide navigates the track into this beautiful valley, surrounded on three sides by steep mountains, and criss-crossed by raging rivers and gentle streams.
See the glacial lagoon which has so altered since the volcanic eruption in April/May 2010. The Eyjafajallajokull glacier sits at the summit of the Gigjokull glacier tongue; the flowing lava and glacial burst under this immense ice and snow has left lava rock rivers, ash and fragmented glacier in its wake.
Bear witness to the power of the planet and marvel at this impressive landscape. Enjoy time walking in the wooded surrounds of this valley, and enjoy some breathtaking views.
Note 50% discount for children aged 11 yrs and under. Minimum 2 passengers. Due to this being a highland track the excursion is available from 1st May - 31st October only and is subject to weather conditions at all times.
