Australia : Top End Highlights

Day 1 Darwin-Kakadu depart Darwin for Kakadu National Park. Your adventure starts at Ubirr Rock to view classic examples of Aboriginal rock art and spectacular 360 degree views. Enjoy lunch in a bush setting before joining an Aboriginal guide for the Guluyambi cruise on the East Alligator River. As you cruise, learn of the flora, fauna, Aboriginal mythology and history of the region. Continue to the Aboriginal land of Hawk Dreaming for those staying at our exclusive Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Camp, or to the Gagudju Holiday Inn for those choosing hotel accommodation.  

Day 2 Kakadu-Katherine visit Nourlangie Rock today to view the renowned Aboriginal art, including Namondjok, a painting some Aboriginal groups believe represents a Creation Ancestor. Travel to the township of Pine Creek, then continue on to Katherine, a busy little tourist town. Join the Nabilil Dreaming Sunset Cultural Dinner Cruise on Katherine Gorge. Learn about the spirit, history and culture of the Jawoyn people as you cruise along the first of two tranquil gorges. As the sun sets, enjoy a three course buffet dinner by candlelight. Overnight at All Seasons Hotel Katherine.

Day 3 Katherine-Litchfield-Darwin travel to the Adelaide River War Cemetery, the resting place for many Second World War soldiers and civilians. Continue on to Litchfield National Park and stop to view the intriguing termite mounds. See the picturesque double waterfall that forms Florence Falls, surrounded by lush rainforest. Stop for lunch (own expense), then travel to the rock pool at Wangi Falls. Enjoy a refreshing swim or nature walk to the top of the falls. Return to Darwin, arriving at approximately 6 pm.
