Itinerary
Day 1 Adelaide-Kangaroo Island
Upon arrival on Kangaroo Island, visit Clifford’s Honey Farm to enjoy an informative talk by the beekeeper followed by tastings and an opportunity to sample homemade honey ice-cream and honey beauty products. Travel to Vivonne Bay for lunch. After lunch visit Seal Bay for a guided beach walk amongst a colony of wild and rare Australian Sea Lions. After Seal Bay, see the Birds of Prey free-flight demonstration, an interactive and educational display of native Australian birds and raptors. Travel back to Kingscote to watch the pelican feeding and learn about these birds, before being transferred to your overnight accommodation. Overnight accommodation at Aurora Ozone Hotel. (L)
Day 2 Kangaroo Island-Adelaide
Today travel to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, then travel to the centre of Kangaroo Island to the Parndana Wildlife Park for a guided tour and the opportunity to feed kangaroos and see koalas. From here, travel to Hanson Bay Sanctuary for lunch and a walk through Eucalypt trees to look for koalas. Then travel to Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas. The tour of the park will take you to the rugged southern coastline for a walk on Remarkable Rocks for great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views, and Admiral's Arch boardwalk which takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for New Zealand fur seals. Return to Penneshaw for the journey back to Adelaide. (B, L)
