Itinerary
Day 1 Winnipeg Arrive in Winnipeg and make your own way to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 2 Winnipeg-Churchill make your own way to the airport for your flight to Churchill with Calm Air. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3 Churchill discover more about Churchill on a Cultural and Historical Tour this morning, taking in the town itself and local attractions such as Cape Merry and the Polar Bear Compound. Later, enjoy a three-hour boat tour to view the pods of beluga whales. These magnificent, playful creatures migrate along the coast of the Hudson Bay, and thousands may be in the mouth of the Churchill River at any one time.
Day 4 Churchill this morning is free to explore Churchill - you may wish to visit the Parks Canada display and sample a pastry at the renowned Gypsy Bakery. Spend time at the Eskimo Museum, housing the world’s largest collection of Inuit artefacts dating from pre-Dorset, Dorset, Thule and modern Inuit times. A Tundra Buggy tour has been arranged this afternoon, allowing a rare opportunity to travel across the Wildlife Management Area in this giant vehicle. You may spot Ptarmigan, Arctic Fox, Snowy Owl, and possibly even Caribou.
Day 5 Churchill-Winnipeg this morning will be your second opportunity to spend time with the “Sea Canaries of the North” on a two-hour zodiac tour. This puts you almost eye to eye with the beluga whales. You will have some free time to shop for souvenirs before your transfer to the airport this afternoon and your flight back to Winnipeg for your final night's accommodation.
Day 6 Winnipeg depart Winnipeg today.
