Introduction
Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia and the largest city in the Maritime provinces, with a colourful history dating back 250 years. An important economic centre with a busy port, Halifax is also a leading centre for higher education and enjoys a youthful vibe from its five universities.
Its attractive harbour and imposing citadel are key landmarks, but Halifax is perhaps best known as the final resting place of many victims of the Titanic tragedy. The excellent Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, located in the heart of Halifax’s historic waterfront provides a fascinating insight into the Titanic, as well as covering other stories and events such as World War Convoys, the Days of Sail to the Age of Steam, and the Halifax Explosion.
This 2-night package includes a guided tour that brings the city’s history to life, with plenty of time available to enjoy the waterfront’s many attractions at leisure.
