Introduction
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range on the west coast of British Columbia, the ancient Great Bear Rainforest is one of the largest tracts of temperate rainforest left in the world.
During this memorable small-ship cruise, you will see magnificent waterfalls, view ancient Petroglyphs, see whales frolic in the waters and watch grizzly bear fish for salmon... The highlight will be the chance to see the rare Kermode bear, also known as the Spirit bear. This is a unique subspecies of the black bear, in which one in ten cubs display a distinctive white coloured coat.
You will be sailing on board the 16-passenger 68 foot ketch, Island Roamer, or her sister-ship the Island Odyssey. Both offer comfortable cabins, a well-stocked library and lounge area, and plenty of deck space for wildlife-spotting. The cruise will be accompanied by an onboard naturalist and there will also be time available to explore the protected waters of the Great Bear Rainforest using stable sea kayaks.
