Itinerary
Day 1 fly UK to Ivalo via Helsinki and transfer to Kakslauttanen. Check in for a 4-night stay, rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 New Year’s Eve time to participate in an optional excursion or relax and enjoy the beautiful Kakslauttanen surrounds. At 20:00 a special dinner buffet is presented, typical foods inspired by recipes from Lapland and Finland prepared with the freshest local ingredients. Although formal wear is preferred during the meal, thermals will be required too, ready for the celebrations carrying on outside. But before that there is a traditional ‘charm casting’ where if you wish, you may have your future predicted, assisted by shapes taken from melted tin over the crackling log fire. Just before midnight, walk 200m through the snow to the Igloo Village, toast the New Year with champagne in the Ice Gallery and watch a colourful fireworks display before returning to the restaurant where the celebrations continue until the early hours.
