The Snaefellsnes Peninsula, just off Iceland’s west coast, is one of the most magical and romantic places in the country. At its tip is majestic Snaefellsjokull, a snow-capped volcano that has an irresistible lure, not least because it is breathtakingly beautiful but also because it is believed by locals to hold mysterious powers. Enjoy the best of both worlds - staying 2 nights in Reykjavik, and enjoy a 2 night stay in the unique and remarkable Icelandic countryside, which is bound to take your breath away.

This excursion takes you to the frozen glacial tongue of Solheimajokull. Accompanied by an expert guide, walk with crampons up onto the ice field where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and crevasses awaits. Along the way can try your hand at ice climbing (equipment provided) on one of the impressive ice walls. Includes approx. 4 hrs on the glacier, glacier gear and safety equipment. Bring warm clothing, rain gear and hiking boots. *Available with transfers from Reykjavik, or meet at the Solheimajokull car park (11:30 daily for self-drive clients).

Minimum age 14 years. Level: easy.
