Iceland : Romantic Retreat

Day 1 Reykjavik fly from the UK to Keflavik and transfer to Reykjavik for a two night stay at Hotel Thingholt; a chic and stylish property located in the city centre, with its restaurants, galleries and shops.

Day 2 Reykjavik collect your rental vehicle and head off to explore the Golden Circle route: take a leisurely drive to Thingvellir National Park, visit cascading Gullfoss and the Geysir geothermal area.

Day 3 Reykjavik-Budir just a scenic two hour drive away is the south shore of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, which protrudes into the ocean like an out-stretched arm. Near the tip is the chic yet cosy Hotel Budir – check in for a two night stay. As you stroll along the nearby sandy shoreline, watch for seals and seabirds or simply choose to walk among the hotel's scenic surrounds. The views from Budir are outstanding; overlooking the ocean and lava fields.

Day 4 Budir at leisure to tour the peninsula - walk a spectacular coastal path in view of dramatic columnar basalt cliffs, natural rock arches and blow holes or quietly observe the prolific bird life.  Visit the pretty village of Grundarfjordur on the north coast, and perhaps take a day trip by boat from Stykkisholmur (summer only - prebookable - contact our team).

Day 5 Budir-Keflavik drive back towards the capital and either stop off there or continue to the world famous Blue Lagoon for a relaxing dip in the warm, mineral rich waters, perhaps even treat yourselves to an in-water massage or beauty experience (additional entrance fee and treatment costs - prepayable). Continue to the airport and drop off the rental vehicle before catching your flight home.
