VERSION A
7 nights
3 nights Arnastapi in the West + 4 nights in Hveragerdi /Selfoss area in the South West
Day 1 Keflavik-Arnastapi fly from the UK to Keflavik and collect your rental vehicle. Head north from Reykjavik on Road 1 and after about an hours’ drive you’ll come to the town of Borgarnes where you may want to stop for some supplies before reaching the summerhouse where you will stay for three nights.
Days 2-3 Arnastapi time to explore the beautiful Snaefellsnes Peninsula or perhaps take the ferry to picturesque Flatey Island or even venture into the unspoilt West Fjords.
Day 4 Arnastapi-Selfoss drive though Borgarfordur valley past historic Reykholt to the beautiful Hraunfossar falls. Continue to Thingvellir National Park before reaching the summerhouse near Selfoss. Stay here for the next four nights.
Days 5-7 Selfoss free to discover some of the delights of the south: Geysir and Gullfoss are the closest places you might want to visit and the rugged south coast with its national parks and iconic waterfalls is also within easy reach. The third day could be spent exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula where you’ll find the must-see Blue Lagoon.
Day 8 Selfoss-Keflavik drive to Keflavik, drop off your rental vehicle and fly to the UK.
VERSION B
11 nights
3 nights in Selfoss area + 4 nights in Erpsstadir + 3 nights at the Lava House near Myvatn + 1 night in Reykjavik
Day 1 Keflavik-Hveragerdi fly from the UK to Keflavik and collect your rental vehicle. Drive out of the capital to your summerhouse near the ‘greenhouse’ town of Hveragerdi (approx. 90 minutes), stopping for supermarket supplies en route.
Days 2-3 Hveragerdi free to explore the many natural wonders of the south including three iconic waterfalls: Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss.
Day 4 Hveragerdi-Erpsstadir drive through Thingvellir National Park to Hvalfjordur and the Akranes Peninsula. Continue through ever changing landscapes to Erpsstadir where you’ll check in for 4 nights.
Days 5-7 Erpsstadir time to explore the Snaefellsnes Peninsula or perhaps venture into the wild West Fjords.
Day 8 Erpsstadir-Lava House head north-east to the Lava House on a 4-5 hour drive that weaves its way through a kaleidoscope of landscapes, magnificent mountains and sweeping valleys dotted with a few farms and settlements. This is the land of the pure-bred Icelandic horse. Stop off for supplies at the charming town of Akureyri before continuing to the Lava House (approx. 1 hours’ drive).
Days 9-10 Lava House the immensely scenic Myvatn region is yours to explore – the lake itself with abundant birdlife and a host of volcanic features, including the Nature Baths; the town of Husavik and the impressive Jokulsa Canyon which contains Europe’s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss.
Day 11 Lava House-Reykjavik for your return to Reykjavik you have several options: travel along the coastal road or, if you have a high clearance 4WD vehicle, return via one of the mountain routes of Sprengisandur or Kjolur (July and August only). Alternatively, leave the vehicle in Akureyri and fly back to the capital – please call our office for a quotation. Overnight at Hotel Cabin in Reykjavik.
Day 12 depart Keflavik rransfer to Keflavik, fly back to the UK.

12 nights
4 nights in the Selfoss area + 3 nights in Erpsstadir + 4 nights at the Lava House near Myvatn + 1 night in Reykjavik
