New Zealand : Volcanoes and Rainforest

Starting from Auckland and ending at Wellington, the itinerary focuses on three main areas – the wilderness surrounds of Rotorua, New Zealand’s best known geothermal area, Tongariro National Park, with its stunning volcanic landscapes and Mt. Egmont National Park, whose far reaching views are legendary.

Food is bought through a kitty system, to which everyone contributes about NZ$20 a day, which also covers any camping fees. Naturally, everyone helps out with preparing the meals and other daily tasks. This is very much a participatory trip, though of course your guide is always at hand to supervise.
