Norway : Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages

Hurtigruten is the name given to the famous voyaging route which stretches along the Norwegian coastline, from Bergen in the south, to Kirkenes in the north, near the Russian border. 

Our Trips
We offer a choice of 3 to 12 night itineraries taking in all or part of this wonderful route. You can do an 11-night round trip or just enjoy a few nights on board these classic vessels. 

The Fleet
The Hurtigruten fleet consists of 13 ships, with 10 operating on these winter voyages. Whilst they vary in size, age and character, the standard of onboard accommodation and facilities is consistently high and the atmosphere informal and relaxed. You'll have panoramic views by day and wide open skies at night for that all-important aurora watching. The large, comfortable lounges offer excellent views through enormous windows and there is ample deck space so whether admiring beautiful, untouched scenery or surreal dancing lights, you'll have plenty of room to manoeuvre. Enjoy half board hospitality during the voyage - all ships offer a fully licensed restaurant and a 24-hr cafe, an ideal spot for warming up if you can drag yourself away from the deck!

Visits and Excursions
The route begins in Bergen, the gateway to the fjords, famous for its Hanseatic history, the Fish Market and Mount Floyen. Visit Trondheim, another historic city, famous for the Nidarosdomen Cathedral. In Tromso there is an opportunity join an excursion: snowmobiling, husky sledging or perhaps just have a leisurely time visiting the Polar Museum, Polaria Centre and the distinctive Arctic Cathedral. On the northbound voyage a stop is made at Honningsvag where it is possible to take an the excursion to the North Cape, the northernmost part of mainland Europe, before continuing to Kirkenes, located a mere 10km from the Russian border.
