Norway : In Pursuit of the Aurora

Day 1 Arrive Tromso fly from London Heathrow to Tromso via Oslo. Spend the following 2 nights at the Thon Hotel Tromso or upgrade to the Rica Ishavshotel.

Day 2 Tromso time to explore Tromso and perhaps visit the Arctic Cathedral, Polar Museum and Polaria Centre or soak up the atmosphere at one of the vibrant cafés in the city centre. There are many optional excursions on offer.

Day 3 Hurtigruten a day to enjoy optional activities or have time at leisure before joining the Hurtigruten which sets sail at 18:30 - dinner and overnight on board ship.

Day 4 Honningsvag-Berlevag arrive in Honningsvag at 11:45. Time to explore the town or take an optional excursion to North Cape. The ship will set sail again at 15:15, time to relax and enjoy the dinner on board before arriving in Berlevag at 22:45. Transfer to Kongsfjord Guesthouse for 2 nights.

Day 5 Berlevag time to relax and explore the area or perhaps take one of the optional excursions or perhaps try out one of the kick sledges that are provided free of charge at the guesthouse.

Day 6 Berlevag-Kirkenes another day at leisure. After dinner transfer to Berlevag and join the Hurtigruten on its final leg to Kirkenes.

Day 7 Kirkenes arrive in Kirkenes at 09:45, transfer to Thon Hotel Kirkenes. Afternoon with optional excursions. From 20th December 2011 you can visit to the Kirkenes Snow Hotel, just a 15 minute drive from Kirkenes. Day 8 Depart Kirkenes transfer to the airport for your flight from Kirkenes to London Heathrow via Oslo.
