Introduction
With the ICEHOTEL still looking particularly festive after the Christmas celebrations, New Year here tends to be a more romantic affair. On the night, head over to the elegant ICEHOTEL restaurant and have a complimentary glass of champagne before a delicious candlelit à la carte meal, then everyone wraps up warm and heads outside. As there are more huskies than people in Jukkasjarvi and its surrounds, people here prefer not to set off fireworks in case its scares the dogs. Instead, ICEHOTEL staff light a more traditional bonfire within a circle of candles down by the frozen River Torne, and faces are all aglow as the countdown to midnight begins. Then perhaps, you may want to retire to the ICEBAR…
