Your holiday includes two or three nights at the Icehotel (depending on your chosen itinerary) where you'll have ample opportunity to experience some of the many optional activities such as husky sledging, reindeer and moose safaris, snowmobiling, ice driving and ice sculpting.

The Abisko National Park

The extra special addition to this itinerary is a night in Abisko National Park, regarded as one of the best locations in the world to observe the northern lights. A natural occurrence in the behaviour of the prevailing winds in the area means that cloud rarely forms, creating ideal conditions for auroral appearances. This anomaly in cloud formation makes Abisko one of the driest places in Sweden, even though it is close to some of the country's top ski resorts which are the amongst the wettest! Stay at Abisko Mountain Station, the only hotel located within the national park, a short walking distance from the chairlift up to the Aurora Sky Station. 

Aurora Sky Station - see the northern lights!

A trip on the chairlift to the Aurora Sky Station is included in this itinerary. Once at the summit, keep watch for the aurora from the large outside deck area or warm up inside by a log fire. As an optional extra, choose to have dinner at the summit - eating delicious home cooked Swedish cuisine whilst keeping a look out for the lights through enormous picture windows is to be recommended!
