An exhilarating day on husky trail to the wilderness and get an insight to a musher's every day life. This excursion includes a two-course lunch in a wilderness lodge and concludes with a visit to the dog kennels. You can either choose to sit on the sledge as a passenger or try out your skills as a musher.

A short walk with your guide to the surrounding forest of the ICEHOTEL. After an introduction to the technique, you can try cross-country ski-ing in the specially made tracks, whilst the guide prepares the camp fire and hot drinks.

This is a traditional city sightseeing tour with special emphasis on Alfred Nobel. The tour takes in the Konsert Huset (Concert Hall) where the Nobel ceremony is held every year; Djurgarden (the old Royal Hunting Park) and the embassy area. In Gamla Stan, the ‘old town’ visit the Nobel Museum focusing on Alfred’s life and the prestigious prize ceremony. Stop at Fjallgata (Mountain Street) to enjoy the beautiful view overlooking Stockholm.

An interesting tour which gives an overview of Sweden’s Royalty, past and present. The tour goes from city landscape to unspoiled countryside, to see typical Swedish farms and churches. Stop in the beautiful park at Ulriksdals Palace and learn of its dramatic history involving little Prince Ulrik; see Haga Park where the young prince Carl Gustav used to summer before becoming King; visit Lovo Church, a typical and very picturesque church which has some interesting rune stones dating from AD 1050 and finally, visit Drottningholm Palace with its wonderful parks and Chinese Pavilion. Drottningholm is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and it is where the royal family lives today.

Trace the history of the Vikings on this wonderful countryside tour which visits several historic sites such as Sigtuna and Uppsala. The first stop is to see some runic stones at an old Viking Bridge named Jarlabankes Bro. Continue to the Viking Parliament, Arkils Tingplats and then to the ruins of a Viking longhouse at Granby farm. Travel through Lunda on the way to the town of Sigtuna which was once a major market place for the Vikings – time to explore and have lunch (not included). Continue to Old Uppsala, probably the most historic place in Sweden because of its ancient Viking parliament. Finally, visit ‘Younger Uppsala’ and have free time to explore places such as the Cathedral, the Old City and the main shopping street.

There are more dogs than people in Jukkasjarvi and its surrounds! Enjoy a husky sledge ride through quiet forest trails with a skilled musher. A short stop is made for coffee and cakes by a campfire.

This is an experience that gives you the opportunity to improve your driving skills and have a great deal of fun at the same time! Head out to a specially built ice track. Under the supervision of skilled instructors, begin with manoeuvring tests on the ice which push the ABS and stabilization systems to the limit. Everyone gets a chance to drive,  two drivers to a vehicle with 2 passengers (on back seat) per vehicle.

On site at the ICEHOTEL be guided by an expert, often someone directly involved in the building of the hotel or the decoration within, and learn how to fashion a small block of ice into your very own masterpiece. This is a truly absorbing activity and surprisingly entertaining. As sharp implements are used, the minimum age for participants is 12 years but for anyone above that, this is a highly recommended way to spend some time. And, the best sculptures are presented around the ICEHOTEL complex and at dinner that evening in the ICEHOTEL restaurant.

This is a fascinating 2-hour guided tour of the world’s largest iron-ore mine, just outside of Kiruna. Explore part of the intricate tunnel system and various underground facilities then learn about the plans for future expansion which include moving the town above! Transportation between the ICEHOTEL and Kiruna at additional cost. Please note that this excursion can only be booked locally.

Moose Safari by Snowmobile (ICEHOTEL)

Travel by minibus and take snowmobiles deep into the heart of the pasture - then it is time to wait. This excursions is operated in co-operation with Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the ICEMOOSE project. The guide on this exclusive trip is very careful not to disturb the animals and it is often possible to have them grazing close by. Sightings cannot be guaranteed. Lunch included. Price includes third party insurance (self-risk excess SEK 8000). Drivers must hold a valid driving licence. Limited to 8 spaces.
