Akademik Shokalskiy
This expedition vessel carries a maximum of 48 passengers, and has a large bridge and good open-deck viewing areas as well as a full complement of Zodiac landing crafts. The dining room doubles as a lecture room and each has a lounge with bar, sauna, laundry and a medical room with a doctor.
Ship Accommodation
Triple Cabins (2) two bunk berths and one single berth with shared access to showers and toilets outside the cabins. Both have washbasins and portholes.
Twin Cabins (9) two single berths with shared access to showers and toilets outside the cabins. All have washbasins and portholes.
Twin Cabins (12) two bunk berths with their own shower/toilet unit and windows.
Superior Cabins (2) double berth plus single sofa-bed. These spacious cabins have their own shower/toilet unit, TV & VCR and windows.
Suite (1) very large cabin with double aspect windows and its own shower/toilet unit, TV & VCR. Separate bedroom with double berth plus double sofa-berth.
Single travellers
Triple or twin share cabins are available (on a same gender basis). Sole occupancy of a cabin incurs a supplement.
Our View
The ideal size for expedition voyaging, fewer passengers means more time on land excursions and iceberg cruises. A comfortable base for exploring the polar regions.
