Weddings at the Icehotel, Swedish Lapland

Wedding Planning
Our wedding coordinator, Megan, will work hand in hand with the Icehotel's on-site wedding coordinator to create the perfect wedding day for you. All requests are taken on board and, subject to cost and feasibility, realised on the day. Extra wedding services are available including hairdresser, wedding cake, flowers, music and photographer.

Ice Chapel
One of the last parts of the Icehotel to be completed, the mesmerizing Ice Chapel is blessed and handed over to the parish of Jukkasjarvi on Christmas day. The Chapel is usually separate from the Icehotel itself with a reindeer hide doorway which allows the bride to make her appearance without the need to walk through the hotel. Rows of ice pews are covered in more reindeer skins for the comfort of your guests and there is often a unique piece of Ice Art taking center stage.

The Ceremony
A religious ceremony is performed be a priest in the Ice Chapel (holding around 30 people)
A civil ceremony is conducted by a registrar in other areas of the Icehotel (holding around 15 people)

As Swedish Lapland does not yet recognize same sex marriages, we cannot arrange this at the Icehotel, however we can arrange a blessing for couples who have entered a civil partnership. The civil partnership must be performed in the UK first and the blessing can then be held in the Ice Chapel.
