Iceland Weddings

With our years of experience in travel to Iceland, it is not surprising that we’ve been asked to assist many couples with their wedding plans in this unique and captivating country. Iceland is an excellent choice for a unique wedding – the people are warm and friendly, and the settings can be quirky, unique and breathtaking all at the same time.

Our weddings are offered on a tailor-made basis to allow for maximum flexibility so that we can create the perfect wedding for you. We offer two types of service: Religious (with a Priest, held in a church or chapel) and Civil (with a District Commissioner at a wider choice of location, both indoors and out). If you would like to renew your vows or just need somewhere stunning to pop the question, then we can help with that too!

Ideally, you need to book your 'Big Day' a minimum of 3 months in advance to allow time to collate paperwork however, we would recommend allowing more time if travelling in a wedding party of 10 or more.

Wedding Locations

Our most popular locations and venues are in the south and south west of the island, within easy reach of Reykjavik. These venues can easily be combined with a few nights in Reykjavik or in the surrounding countryside before and/or after your wedding. These ideas are just for starters, Iceland has a wide range of other options available for weddings, and of course you needn’t get married in a church – we can arrange civil ceremonies just about anywhere on the island, as long as the area's District Commissioner is willing to cooperate!

		Thingvellir National Park Religious or civil wedding The beautiful wooden church in Thingvellir is surrounded by mountains and glaciers. Civil ceremonies can take place on the edge of the lake, at the foot of the cascading Oxara waterfall or between the great rift, typical of this geothermal area.
		Seljalandsfoss & Skogafoss Religious or civil wedding A few hours drive from Reykjavik are two of Iceland's most breathtaking waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss - perfect backdrops for a romantic summer wedding ceremony. Nearby is quaint Skogar church with its colourful interior.
		Hotel Ranga Religious or civil wedding A four-star property two hours drive from Reykjavik in beautiful rural countryside. Weddings can take place in the hotel itself, in the charming church of Skogar or Oddi nearby, or next to beautiful Seljalandsfoss or Skogafoss waterfall.
		Hotel Budir Religious wedding In west Iceland, the magnificent Snaefellsness Peninsula is home to boutique style Hotel Budir and it’s picturesque church. Perched above a sweeping bay, the idyllic church is a few minutes walk from the hotel, the perfect choice for an intimate, romantic ceremony.
