REYKJAVIK TOUR
This 2-hour trip includes visits to Arbaer folk museum, the gallery of sculptor Asmundur Sveinsson, the shopping district (famous for the ‘Lopi’ Icelandic jumpers), the fishing harbour and the spectacular Hallgrimskirkja Church. THE GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR
An 8-hour tour taking in some of the amazing natural wonders for which Iceland is famous including:
- Hveragerdi, – where fruits, flowers and vegetables are grown in greenhouses heated by natural thermal springs.
- Kerid – a lake-filled crater of an extinct volcano.
- Gullfoss – a rainbow misted waterfall, often described as Iceland’s most beautiful.
- Geysir – the Great Geysir area, with its many hot springs, bubbling mud pools and geysers, of which Strokkur, the world’s most active, is likely to spout several times – be prepared!
- Thingvellir – the great lava arena in a fertile rift valley, where the ancient Icelandic parliament met for centuries.
THE BLUE LAGOON
Take a relaxing swim in the milky-blue mineral rich waters of the famous geothermal lagoon, surrounded by black lavascape. The waters stay a comfortably warm 36°C all year round, regardless of the climate! Although the entrance fee (approx. £12) is not included in the cost of the holiday, a trip to this unique natural wonder is a must. The trip departs on 23rd March 2006 only and costs £499 per person based on two sharing. Price includes return scheduled flights with Icelandair from London Heathrow to Keflavik; 3 nights accommodation in a twin room with private facilities at Hotel Loftleidir; 3 breakfasts and 2 evening meals; sightseeing tour of Reykjavik; full day Golden Circle sightseeing trip; transfers from Keflavik to the hotel on arrival and from the hotel to Keflavik via the Blue Lagoon on departure.
