If you’re looking for a special Reykjavik break, then look no further. Explore this intriguing city and discover some of the spectacular scenery that surrounds it on our special group departure. Hotel Loftleidur is the base for this holiday and a number of excursions are included as detailed below:

REYKJAVIK TOUR

This 2-hour trip includes visits to Arbaer folk museum, the gallery of sculptor Asmundur Sveinsson, the shopping district (famous for the ‘Lopi’ Icelandic jumpers), the fishing harbour and the spectacular Hallgrimskirkja Church.

THE GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR

  • Hveragerdi, – where fruits, flowers and vegetables are grown in greenhouses heated by natural thermal springs.
  • Kerid – a lake-filled crater of an extinct volcano.
  • Gullfoss – a rainbow misted waterfall, often described as Iceland’s most beautiful.
  • Geysir – the Great Geysir area, with its many hot springs, bubbling mud pools and geysers, of which Strokkur, the world’s most active, is likely to spout several times – be prepared!
  • Thingvellir – the great lava arena in a fertile rift valley, where the ancient Icelandic parliament met for centuries.
