We now have confirmed prices for this very exciting trip for 2006. This holiday to Madagascar is designed to appeal to those who want to experience the wonderful scenery, wildlife, flora and friendly people of a bewitching and beautiful island.
Our brand new trip includes a balanced mix of landscapes, wildlife reserves, towns and villages. Classic sites include the Indri Reserve at Perinet and the tropical offshore island of Nosy Be. You also get the opportunity to go off the beaten track and explore places like the Tsingy of Ankarana, whose eroded limestone karst has formed one of the world’s most remarkable landscapes, the dry forests of Ampijoroa and rainforested Nosy Mangabe island, where you can see the nocturnal aye-aye, one of the strangest of mammals. Then there are the mist-shrouded and rainforest-clad mountains, craters lakes and waterfalls of Montagne D’Ambre, and the sandy bays and baobabs of Diego Suarez.
During the trip you’ll be treated to some of the island’s most bizarre, intriguing and unusual flora and fauna. You’ll meet the tamest of lemurs and search for some of the most elusive. The local guides in the reserves will help you find, observe and enjoy the great variety of endemic birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates that make up what is arguably the world’s most unusual showcase of wildlife. But this isn’t typical Africa – there are no big land mammals (no dangerous ones either!). Madagascar’s gems of nature are subtle and for the discerning and adventurous traveller.
The trip is based on a small group of 10-12 participants and departs from 2nd – 22nd October 2006. Prices start from £2894 per person based on two sharing. Price includes return scheduled flights between London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle and from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Antananarivo; escorted tour inclusive of accommodation as stated on a full board basis, domestic flights, guide services, transportation, entrance to reserves, sightseeing and excursions as stated; airport taxes.
