| We are planning an incredible cross curricular trip which all students will find educational and at the same time extremely enjoyable. Imagine a trip to an iron ore mine where you can explore 540m down and see how this iron ore is extracted, de-magnetized and shipped around the world! Ideal for the geologists in you! And not forgetting the 40 year plan to move the whole town of Kiruna!
Combine this with the physics department looking at the magnetic fields, the phenomenon of the Northern Lights, how snow moves and causes avalanches and even try your hand at finding “buried people” in the avalanche test centre. You can visit the Esrange space centre where Richard Branson’s Space Galactic is being based, and of course no trip would be complete without a visit to the amazing Ice Hotel where you can see how the art and design of this unique hotel contributes to a strong business and economic plan as well as contributing to recycling!
This is a truly unique destination that will appeal to students and teachers alike. To find out more and to register your interest, please contact Lorraine Silvester on 0870 060 3288.
