Join us in Churchill, also known also as polar bear capital of the world and see the most carnivorous member of the bear family in their natural surroundings. Special departures on our popular Kingdom of the Icebear holiday are now available!
Each year in October and November, as many as 1200 bears gather here on the icy tundra, waiting for the sea in Hudson Bay to freeze. Feeding mainly on seals, polar bears are the ultimate hunters, and their diet also includes birds, rodents, shellfish, crabs, beluga whales, young walruses, occasionally musk oxen or reindeer, and very occasionally other polar bears! Still, reindeer and musk oxen can easily outrun a polar bear as they overheat quickly! |
