The Antarctic Peninsula offers the most dramatic scenery and the greatest variety of wildlife in Antarctica. During the southern summer, large areas are ice-free, providing the breeding ground for huge numbers of birds and seals. Truly amazing photographic opportunities are afforded from curious penguins and seals, hauled out on the ice floes.
Encounters with great whales, including humpback, minke and fin, can also be memorable but what strikes many visitors above all else is the vastness and remoteness of the place. |
