| The lush forested Coromandel Peninsula lies across the Firth of Thames from Auckland and is renowned for its lovely coastal scenery and golden sand beaches. At the end of the tour you have the option to return to Auckland, or continue to Rotorua. |

| Day 1: |
Auckland-Coromandel Peninsula
Pick up from your hotel or the city centre and head south from Auckland along the seabird coast by scheduled coach through the mining town of Thames to Coromandel. Take the narrow gauge train at Driving Creek and hear about an important reforestation project. Walk along an easy forest trail to see a giant kauri tree. Continue to Whitianga/Pauanui for your overnight stay. |
| Day 2: |
Coromandel Peninsula-Auckland
Morning tour around the beaches of Mercury Bay. If the tide is low, you can enjoy a natural hot water spa pool, dug in the sands at Hot Water Beach. Lunchtime departure by scheduled coach for Auckland or Rotorua, via Tairua.
Tour ends at around 16.00 in Auckland, or 16.30 in Rotorua. |
