About Åre

Åre offers a traditional winter experience with a wealth of snow and after ski activities to participate in. And if you’re lucky the magical northern lights might make an appearance.

Stretching 10 km along a frozen lake, Åre is home to many international winter events; the Women’s World Cup for Downhill, Super G and the World Cup Freestyle Championships to name a few! With four different ski areas it offers numerous runs to cater for every level of skier or snowboarder.

Excellent ski school tuition is offered with English speaking instructors. With four hours of instruction per day the aim is to instill confidence and encourage skiers to advance.

There is a wide range of apres ski activities, including bowling, swimming, zip lining, dog sledging, snow shoeing and indoor rock climbing all adding to the recipe for a great experience for student groups. Party leaders will be happy to know that this vibrant village has a strict no alcohol rule for under 18’s - alcohol is not sold in local supermarkets and photo ID is required.

Easily accesable, just over an hour away from two international airports, Åre is the ideal place for students to experience the thrill of winter activities and there is a snow guarantee from December to May due to its northerly latitude.

The accommodation options are comfortable and diverse, offering something to suit all groups; family run hotels, apartments and traditional Swedish resort hotels.
