 Nordic Travel Specialist

As a Travel Specialist your primary responsibility will be to sell and package holidays specific to your customer’s requirements and deliver excellent sales and the highest level of customer service. You should maintain excellent product knowledge of the destinations you are selling to affirm the status of a destination specialist.

Working within the Nordic Sales team, you will also be supported administratively by the Travel Specialists in the Operations Department.

Skills/Experience required

Essential:

  • Sales knowledge and experience within a travel sales environment
  • Proven experience of meeting and exceeding set sales and performance targets
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressurised deadlines
  • Exceptional sales ability – closing, converting, up-selling and cross-selling
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy
  • Teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus and skills
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English is essential
  • Computer office skills, including basic practical skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Dynamic and self-management attributes
  • A love of travel and foreign cultures

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working for a specialist tour operator in a similar role
  • GDS reservation skills (Amadeus)
  • Destination knowledge of the Nordic regions (Iceland, Greenland, Sweden, Norway & Finland)

 Marketing Manager - Education Division

Discover the World Education is a sub-brand specialising in school group trips. The department includes a team of 20 who sell directly to schools, colleges and universities. DTWE has grown by almost 300% in the last 6 years which has now resulted in the need for a dedicated Marketing Manager. The department’s marketing has until now been largely overseen by those involved in the department’s product team. We are therefore recruiting a Marketing Manager to help identify possible gaps in our existing marketing and to assist with more effective planning.

 

As the Marketing Manager, your primary role will be to oversee and coordinate all online and offline marketing activities within the department. Working closely with the department’s Director you will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing a marketing and communications strategy to increase retention, recommendations and acquisition across all channels. You will also be involved in the implementation and management of a CRM system. You will have budget responsibility and will be expected to achieve targets and demonstrate success against ROI.

Skills / Experience Required

Essential

• Experience in a Marketing Manager position
• Excellent knowledge and experience of online marketing, direct marketing, CRM, customer recruitment and retention.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
• Excellent copy writing skills, a strong attention to detail and creative flair
• Sound organisation skills and flexibility, with experience of managing multiple work streams
• Excellent English communication skills (written - including copywriting and verbal)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to thrive on working in a pressurised environment and to strict deadlines

• Proven ability to mentor and supervise staff

 Sales And Operations Manager - Education

A new role has arisen due to internal promotion. We are looking for a Sales and Operations Manager for our busy Education Division.

The key responsibilities are:

• Undertake the day to day management of the team to maintain quality standards, including staff performance, training needs, providing guidance and motivating staff.
• Monitor sales team performance and commission structure.
• Manage and oversee the day to day workloads, ensuring all sales enquiries and operational processes (including booking reports/manifests) are completed within required time-frames.
• When necessary, assist with booking enquiries, sales and reservations and provide first point line management support to staff.
• Assist with arranging training educational visits and staff travel/insurance bookings.
• Assist with recruitment and training of new staff.
• Keep abreast of industry changes and trends, together with any relevant FCO updates and communicate as necessary to the business. Act on FCO advice for travel, taking any necessary action for future bookings.
• Attend and represent the company at trade and public exhibitions/shows/open-evenings.

Applicants will require the following experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience of people management.
• Sound organisation skills and flexibility, with experience of managing multiple work streams
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal English
