General Information

Baggage Allowance

Icelandair - Free baggage allowance on Icelandair, for those travelling in Economy class, is usually 1 x checked-in bag at 23kg per passenger and 1 x cabin bag at 10kg per passenger (in addition to one small personal item). This increases if you are traveling in Economy Comfort or Saga class.

Easyjet - One piece of carry on baggage no larger than 56 x 45 x 25cm (including wheels) is included in the basic fare price. All checked-in baggage will incur an additional cost depending on the size and weight of the bags. This can be pre-paid and is usually less expensive than paying at check-in.

Wow Air - Passengers booking Wow Air flights through Discover The World will have a baggage allowance of 1 x checked in bag at 20kg per passenger and 1 x cabin bag at 8kg per passenger, included in their fare price. Any baggage over this allowance will incur an additional cost.

For up-to-date details on hand luggage restrictions and charges, please speak to our sales and reservations team.

Passports and Visas

Your passport must be valid for 3 months for Iceland and 6 months elsewhere, following your arrival at the foreign destination. No visas are required by British subjects (being a 'Citizen of the United Kingdom'), or any citizen of an EC country, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United States for Iceland. If you do not fall into one of these categories please call the embassy of the country to be visited. At the time of going to press, no inoculations were required for visitors to Iceland. However it is recommended that you check your tetanus and polio immunisations are up to date.

Health Information & Food Imports

Whether you insure through Discover the World or not, it is very important that anyone traveling to Europe carries a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), these cards are free if obtained from the NHS. For details please click here, or once your booking is confirmed, you will be sent a Travel Tips booklet which contains information on applying for an EHIC.

In accordance with EU legislation, we are required to draw your attention to restrictions concerning the import of food items which cannot be brought into the EU (including the UK), from outside the EU. For details please click here »

We enjoyed the whole Iceland experience and intend to complete the Island circuit via the west coast maybe next year.
