Located 35km west of Myvatn, this former farm has 43 rooms at the centre of many of pearls of northern Iceland. Found just south of the small village of Laugar, guests staying at Hotel Narfastadir can easily reach the birds and trails of Lake Myvatn, the cookie-cutter canyon of Asbyrgi, the thundering Dettifoss and Godafoss as well as the whale watching capital of Europe in Husavik, among others.
During the summer, a mouth-watering dinner buffet is served in the restaurant, with a variety of Icelandic fish and meat coming alongside locally-grown vegetables and side-dishes. The breakfast buffet features homemade bread alongside cereals, meat and cheese and juices that will keep you going through your day. In the winter, evening meals are available on request.
An outdoor hot tub provides the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing, while a cosy sitting room makes an ideal place to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee. Bedrooms are found tucked in the former sheep-stable and old house, almost a century old but converted into elegant and comfortable facilities. Rooms come with either public or shared facilities.
