This charming wilderness lodge, split into two main buildings, is located in the heart of Finnish Lapland amidst the Saariselka fells and Urho Kekkonen National Park. Offering both hotel rooms, apartment style accommodation and new for 2016-17 are Aurora Cabins, Log Suites and Log Cabins. The lodge is ideal for both couples and families.

Muotka boasts a cosy lounge area where tea and coffee are served throughout the day, and a cosy, open plan restaurant comes complete with log fire. Your stay is based on full board, although additional snacks and drinks (including alcoholic) can be purchased. The sauna is heated daily and has allocated times for male and female guests. Alternatively, you can book a private sauna outside these times at an additional cost of €20 per 1 hour (payable locally). There is also a large traditional smoke sauna on site which is available to use twice a week (there is an additional charge to have these saunas heated). There is also an outdoor fireplace, lean-to and a Sami hut. Or, for those who are so inclined, head down to the nearby river for an Arctic plunge through the 'hole in the ice'.

There are a range of activities included in your stay here, such as a snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm or onto the fells, hunting for the northern lights, a husky sled journey, snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Room Options - the main building houses most of the hotel rooms with double or twin beds and all with private facilities. They are comfortably furnished and just a few steps away from the main reception, restaurant and sauna facilities. At the end of the building and with a separate entrance from the outside is a modern 2 bedroom apartment which is great for famililies.

Situated a short distance away is the Old Muotka building which also has standard rooms and studio type rooms or apartments which can accommodate extra beds. Across the courtyard is the Riverside Cabin comprising of the Riverside Room for two people with private sauna and the Riverside Studio sleeping up to 4, with private sauna and fireplace.

New for this winter season we are delighted to introduce the Aurora Cabins, which have a large north facing window, ideal for gazing at the sky above looking for the northern lights. They are spacious for couples with double bed and private sauna. We're sure they're be very popular with guests. In addition there will be Log Suites with four in each log building, all with private sauna, double or twin beds plus a sofa bed. Also new for this season will be detached Log Cabins for two people, each with large north facing window for aurora gazing, log burner and private sauna.
