Itinerary & Accommodation

Day 1 arrive Auckland
You will be met on arrival in Auckland and transferred to your accommodation.
Overnight: Hotel De Brett (B). Please note king bed only available (no twin).
Day 2 Auckland- Waitomo-Rotorua (370 km)
Collect your Hertz rental car and drive to the Waitomo caves where a tour of the Glowworm caves is included, revealing a hidden world of glow worms and limestone formations. Later travel across the Mamaku Hills to the famous geothermal centre of Rotorua.
Overnight: Black Swan Lakeside Boutique Hotel (B).
Day 3 Rotorua-Napier (223 km)
Depart Rotorua this morning and travel via Lake Taupo to Napier, the Art Deco centre of New Zealand. The Hawke's Bay region is renowned for its fresh local produce and award winning wines and is home to over 140 vineyards and 70 wineries. Stay in Napier for two nights.
Overnight: McHardy Lodge (B).
Day 4 Napier
Sit back and relax as you experience a range of wineries and food attractions with a full day Gold Reserve Wine Tour. Visit 5-6 wineries (including a Premium vineyard and winemaking tour). Enjoy your 2 course winery lunch and also enjoy a mid-afternoon gourmet Hawke's Bay tasting platter. A trip to the Summit of Te Mata Peak is also included and here you can see breathtaking views over the Hawke's Bay region. Pick up and drop off from your accommodation is included (B/L).

Day 5 Napier-Martinborough (286 km)
From Hawke's Bay, journey south to the attractive town of Martinborough just east of Wellington. This boutique wine-producing region is renowned for its Pinot Noir. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore some of the many vineyards, all within a short distance of the town centre.

Day 6 Martinborough-Wellington-Picton-Blenheim (119 km)
Drive the short distance to Wellington and drop off your car before boarding the ferry across the Cook Strait to the South Island. Collect another car at Picton and drive to Blenheim in the Marlborough region for a two-night stay.
Overnight: The Peppertree (B)
Day 7 Blenheim
Enjoy a wine tour tailored to your wine interests and preferences. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide with wine industry experience as you visit a selection of award winning wineries and enjoy lunch at a winery restaurant in the Marlborough region. Hotel pick up and drop off and Lunch included (B).
Overnight: as above.
Day 8 Blenheim-Nelson (116 km)
Depart Blenheim and make your way to Nelson today. Spend the afternoon at leisure. You may like to visit the Wearable Arts Museum or one of the many art and handicraft centres around the city. Two night stay in Nelson.
Overnight: Warwick House (B). Please note double room only available (no twin).
Day 9 Nelson
Spend a full day at leisure in the Nelson region. Nelson's climate is ideal for production of world-class wine, long warm summers and cool autumn nights produce wines with intense fruit flavours, good acid balance and weight. The region has an abundance of local flavours, sun-kissed fruit, farm-fresh and organic vegetables and succulent seafood. The great food is complemented with over 25 boutique aromatic wineries and craft breweries (B).

Day 10 depart Nelson
Drive to Nelson airport and return your rental car prior to your departure.
