The Westhaven estate, a peninsula of 1000 acres is privately owned land and enjoys the most spectacular views in the whole region. Nelson is well known for its three spectacular National Parks (Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi National Park) where visitors can hike (guided and unguided), fish, kayak and cruise. The region is also home to over 300 full time artists, with a range of art trails & craft studios ready to be explored. Nelson also boosts some of the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand, with gold sand beaches and clear waters. For the adventure junky there is white water rafting, rock climbing, abseiling, parachuting and more. Wine & food enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the many local wineries and artisan producers.
