Overview

This flexible holiday combines the self-sufficiency of motorhome travel with the convenience of a pre-planned itinerary to ensure you get the most out of your time away. Take in a wealth of scenic wonders from Auckland to the Fiordland including Rotorua, Tongariro, the West Coast glaciers and iconic Mount Cook over three fabulous weeks.

Highlights

  • Spend longer in Auckland with time to explore the west coast
  • Experience the sights, sounds and intrinsic Maori culture of Rotorua
  • Visit Tongariro National Park famous for its imposing volcanoes
  • Choose to cruise Doubtful Sound or Milford Sound
  • Take a hike amongst the alpine scenery of Mt Cook National Park

This motorhome itinerary offers you a wonderfully independent self-drive holiday and features some iconic locations in the 'land of the white cloud'. With recommended 2-night stays in the Coromandel, Lake Wanaka, Te Anau and Mt Cook, visit geothermal Rotorua, dual World Heritage Listed Tongariro, magnificent Fiordland National Park and alpine Mt Cook. With plenty of opportunities for hiking and adventure, discover the natural wonders of NZ.

Designed so that you can be completely self-sufficient and thereby reduce your day to day living costs this itinerary is especially suited to the independent traveller. Offering ultimate flexibility, you have the choice of following our suggested itinerary and pre-booking your overnight campsite stops or to book your motorhome rental only and vary the itinerary as you travel.

Based on All Inclusive rental this holiday also includes airport transfers, 2 nights hotel accommodation, the Inter Islander Ferry, and comprehensive travel documents.

We recommend pre-booking campsites during peak season in New Zealand, from mid-November to late February. The itinerary can also be done in reverse, starting in Christchurch and ending in Auckland

We have both enjoyed this so much that words will not adequately describe it. New Zealand was wonderful and we only wished we had asked for twice the amount of time in each stop! A big thanks from us both.

Sir James & Lady Sylvia Barlow, Tailor made
