Situated in a private, native bush reserve, this cedar-clad lodge overlooking the idyllic Bay of Islands offers four guestrooms.
Contemporary in design and with an expansive, open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, the lodge's floor-to-ceiling windows and large decks showcase the captivating views. Found only three hours north of Auckland, this lodge is a relaxing escape in the heart of New Zealand's tropical crown.
Fishing, sailing, kayaking, diving and whale watching can all be enjoyed in the area, while the hotel's design encourages guests to enjoy the area of natural beauty even while relaxing in the evenings.
The restaurant serves innovated dishes, traditional favourites that have been inspired by European or Asian cuisines. The emphasis here is on fresh ingredients found in the season, such as locally-caught seafood, organic produce from the market gardens nearby and free-range, grass-fed meat and poultry raised in the district. 3-4 course affairs, dinners are accompanied by fine New Zealand wines and are a set menu, with dietary needs taken into consideration. Picnic lunches are also available.
The four spacious guest rooms are situated on the lower floor, with an ''infinity'' plunge pool and surrounding deck in the centre of the two wings. Each guest room has a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with under-floor heating, walk-in wardrobe and large balcony. A hairdryer, tea and coffee plunger, TV & DVD player, WiFi, in-house safe and iron are available. The soft, earthy toned colour scheme blends seamlessly with the spectacular natural setting.
